Squarespace & Web Design Workshop
Squarespace/Web Design was a 6-week workshop co-taught with my friend Julia for Acts2Network. This course was designed to introduce essential web design concepts to a diverse group of 8 women, ranging from middle school students to working professionals. The class covered fundamental topics such as web design basics, accessibility, information architecture, wire-framing, UX audits, and how to use Squarespace through a hands-on, interactive approach.
Participants worked on two key projects: redesigning an existing website element and solving real-world design challenges provided by organizations like Element Youth Group and Area Youth Ministry. These projects allowed students to apply their learning in practical contexts, building functional and visually engaging websites for personal and professional use.
My role included developing course materials, facilitating discussions, and providing individualized support to ensure each student could achieve their design goals. The course successfully enhanced participants’ design skills, with many reporting increased confidence leaving them eager to continue learning and exploring further.
